We have a great lineup of articles and features for you this month!

We launch July by profiling Valette restaurant in Healdsburg, CA. Brothers Dustin Valette and Aaron Garzini celebrate local farmers and vintners with a down-to-earth seasonal menu that delights visitors and tourists alike. Learn about their history, their venture into wine, and their upcoming restaurant, Roof 106. This rooftop lounge features a locally made Mugnaini pizza oven that will turn out wood-fired flatbreads made from a dough recipe derived from a rare yeast strain sourced from William Selyem winery.

And in Europe, from war-torn Kosovo, where the Yugoslavian government ordered farmers to destroy their vines, comes a story of determination and skill. Rrustem Gecaj and his team replanted hundreds of hectares of vines on hillsides where grapes had been growing for 2000 years, re-invigorating Stone Castle vineyards, the largest winery in Kosovo! Explore varietals such as Vranc, an indigenous variety genetically related to Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, and Chardonnay with Penny Weiss. These unique wines are now available in the U.S.
