Summer Kitchen Essentials: AirHood® Products to Keep Your Cooking Clean and Fresh

With Memorial Day here, the fun of summer is officially in full swing! We got our hands on some cool products from AirHood® to share with you. AirHood first introduced the AirHood air filter back in 2019, all thanks to the brilliant French designer Maxime Augay. It’s a real powerhouse for keeping your kitchen clean, especially when Dad’s cooking up those greasy fries! (Just kidding, of course.)

Now, here’s the thing: we don’t make any money from selling AirHood products. But we believe in their quality, so we decided to give their stuff a try!

One of the coolest things AirHood offers is a splatter screen. It’s like a magic shield that keeps your kitchen clean while allowing you to see what’s cooking, especially when you’re frying up some delicious food. They have two options: a stainless steel one and a silicone one. The stainless steel one is made of super fine stainless steel mesh, which traps all the oil splatters while letting the steam escape. This way, your food stays crispy and delicious, not soggy from all that trapped water. And guess what? The handle is heat-resistant to 428ºF, so you can hold it safely.

The silicone one is a bit different. It’s made of heat-resistant silicone and can cover pans up to 12 inches in diameter. It’s got bigger holes, so maybe a bit more oil splatters out, but it’s still a great option if you prefer the look. And the best part? It doubles as a trivet, so you don’t have to buy another one.

Oh, and AirHood has also introduced a vacuum food container set. It’s a set of four stackable borosilicate glass containers with ABS covers. The covers have a valve, so you can easily pump out the air with the included pump. We haven’t compared it to other similar products, but less air will help your food last longer. Having a solid glass container ensures that delicate food like chips or blueberries won’t be crushed in the vacuuming process.

The pump is super easy to use, and the glass makes it easy to safely reheat leftovers. I prefer glass for storing food, especially acidic stuff like tomato-based pasta sauces. Plus, it helps me use fewer plastic bags or plastic wrap, which is always a good thing.
