The Perfect Wines For Valentine’s Day

Cupid’s Day is around the corner and it is a month-long celebration of everything pink and red.  Be sure to toast this Valentine’s Day with a sparkling rosé or a heart-y red wine.   Valentine’s Day is about spending time with loved ones.  What better way to celebrate than with the perfect bottle of wine,  Here are five wines that will create unforgettable moments with your loved ones this Valentine’s Day.  There is no better way to express your love than with a bottle of wine that is sensual, juicy, profound, and complex.  These wines are sure to charm your Valentine.

Cooper Mountain Pinot Noir 2021 ($33) – Oregon, United States

Arguably one of the best places in the country to get Pinot Noir is Oregon.  You don’t want to miss out on this sustainable, delicious bottle of Oregon red. Cooper Mountain agrees that nothing worth having ever comes easy and Pinot Noir likes to make them work for it. But in that perfect year, under the perfect set of circumstances, Pinot Noir rewards with a celestial experience. This one in particular has lovely flavors of blackberry, blueberry and raspberry that round out a velvet, balanced structure. This is a seductive sip – perfect for sharing with someone special this holiday.

Jaine Columbia Valley Rosé 2024 ($27) – Washington, United States

Jaine is a toast to life’s most beautiful moments – Valentine’s Day included. Each bottle of refreshingly crisp Jaine Rosé comes from hand-harvested grapes from sustainable sites and is crafted with minimal intervention. Capturing the essence of a single vineyard, this wine aims to showcase the place, vintage, and dynamic tension unique to white wines from Washington State. This wine offers aromas of wild strawberry, spritz of lemon, and orange zest. The palate is well-balanced with a delightful, focused acidity showing fresh, vibrant, red fruits. The dry finish is focused and refreshing.

Mommessin Grandes Mises Saint-Amour 2023 ($32) – Beaujolais, France

Since 1865, the spirit of Mommessin has consisted of a Beaujolais soul and a Burgundian heart that define a style that is fruity, powerful and very close to its roots. This most Northern Cru from the village of Saint-Amour bears a name which is gentle to the ear and to the heart. It is the wine of poets and lovers. If it didn’t exist, life would be a little less charming. This wine is spicy, with complex aromas of cherry and iris on the nose. It has an ample structure, silky tannins and a fine, long finish.

Jansz Tasmania Premium Rosé ($30) – Tasmania, Australia

When you think of luxurious sparkling wines, your mind might not go to Tasmania first, but Jansz is here to change that. Tasmania’s cool latitude and maritime climate are ideal for producing elegant wines with powerful fruit flavors and high natural acidity. This delightful bubbly has strawberries and cream, rose petals, Turkish delight, and fresh brioche notes as well as a creamy texture and richness. Perfect for your Galentine’s day brunches, ‘girls’ night in’ and rom-com movie marathons.

Zenato Ripassa Valpolicella Superiore 2020 ($30) – Veneto, Italy

From the region that gave us Romeo & Juliet, it only makes sense that Zenato of Veneto, Italy, gave us such a romantic Ripassa. The Zenato family knows a thing or two about delectable reds and this Ripassa is no exception. As soon as the dried grapes for the Amarone are fermented, selected batches of Valpolicella wine are “re-passed” over the Amarone lees, thus starting a second fermentation that gives the wine a deeper color and more complex aromas. The result is a dark ruby red wine with notes of spice pepper, leather, and black currants; this wine is complex, refined, smooth and sultry. Perfect for a cozy, candlelit dinner or pairing with a big box of assorted chocolates!
